Getting The Most Out Of Your First-Time Experience: A Technical Account Manager (TAM) Perspective

For the past 6 years I have watched from afar as the VMware ecosystem converges on San Francisco every year for VMworld. This year I am fortunate enough to be able to attend this amazing event and see first-hand what my colleagues and customers have been raving about for so many years.

As an employee and a TAM, I have a slightly different objective for my VMworld experience. Yes, I am very excited to attend the numerous keynotes and possibly even some very technical deep dive sessions, but I am also looking forward to the many extracurricular events that are happening at VMworld, many hosted by our numerous partners to ensure that even after-hours we get to continue our experience. And of course there is the official VMware party, this year at AT&T Park and featuring Neon Trees and Alabama Shakes. I am certain that all of this will keep me very well entertained.

What I am most excited about however is the opportunity to host many of my TAM customers at this event as well as meet other VMware customers, TAM or other that will be attending. I think this is one of the greatest parts of this event and being able to host my customers is an experience I am really looking forward to.
