FROM THE EDITORS VIRTUAL DESK
Well what a surprising week it was. I have been at VMware for 4 and a half years now and really love my role as a TAM. For a while now I have had the objective to meet the requirements to become a senior TAM. This week my manager sent through a note to everyone that I had been promoted. This was a very personal achievement for me and working with my manager to achieve this has been a pleasure. I have really learnt a lot at VMware over the past 4 years and enjoy every day I am there, this just makes it even sweeter so a big thank you to my Manager, all of the TAMs I work with and of course everyone else who helped me achieve this.
So that's all I have for you this week, my acceptance speech to show my gratitude
We have a great newsletter for you this week so please enjoy.
Kind Regards

A service catalog is available for customers to pick up and request services from. Each service or set of services is managed by the “service manager/owner” role. Your IT shop would have an Income Statement (Profit-Loss…

- VMware Network Virtualization Blog: Thinking Out Loud: The Future of VLANsThis post originally appeared on the blog of Scott Lowe, a member of the VMware team and is a tremendous resource for information about all things virtualization. - VMware Virtualization Management Blog: Cloud Automation ROI – Control Resource Usage without Slowing Service DeliveryOne of the challenges of virtualization for many companies is less control over the provisioning of IT services compared to physical servers. In fact, the majority of companies we have worked with readily admit they have over allocated their resources by 20% or more. Those companies enforcing governance over resource consumption either have relatively small, static environments or strict, manually enforced processes with much longer than average service delivery times. Therefore, it is far more…
