Hello All,

If you're planning to use VMware Converter for VM Migration from One DC To Another, then you should make following changes before you start the migration.

( Note # You have to have a good WAN Link between the 2 sites ) and it also depends on How Busy your storage array is.

1. You have to Disable SSL in VMware Converter To Speed up the process.

  • Take a backup of the converter-worker.xml file. ...
  • Open the converter-worker.xml file using a text editor.
  • Locate the tag pair <useSsl></useSsl>. ...
  • Change the value to false.
  • Save and close the file.
  • Restart the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Worker service on the machine.

2. Set the Number of Data Connections per Task ( Set it to Maximum ) When we clone multiple disks and volumes in parallel, each data transfer uses a separate TCP connection, so we can use this option during next migration and see how it help us.

When you clone multiple disks and volumes in parallel, each data transfer uses a separate TCP connection.

Procedure

  1. On the main menu, select Administration> Data Connections per Task.
  2. Select the number of concurrent data connections.
  3. Click OK.

Hope this helps.

Thanks & Regards
