FROM THE EDITORS VIRTUAL DESK
Hi everyone, by the time the next newsletter is out VMworld Europe in Barcelona will probably be in full swing. This is the premier VMware event in Europe and one that I am sure many of you are looking forward to. There will be many sessions from the VMworld US event as well as many others for this special event. In addition adding to the many announcements and keynote sessions from VMworld US, expect even more in the lead up and during VMworld Europe. Make sure you keep informed about the many different tracks and events here.
During VMworld US one of the key announcements was for Project Pacific, Kubernetes in vSphere. I have had many questions on this since the event from interested people due to the increasing popularity of Kubernetes as a technology. If you are looking for more information on this I suggest heading over to the blog post by Joe Beda here as well as the Project Pacific landing page here. In addition to this you should also read about VMware Tanzu, Modern Application architecture, here, also announced at VMworld US.
Don't forget that all of the content from VMworld US is available on the VMworld website. I wish you all a fantastic week ahead and planning your VMworld Europe trip if you are attending.

TAM EVENTS @ VMWARE
November 2019 – Bitfusion Technical Overview
Date: Thursday, November 14th
Time: 11:00am EST/ 10:00am CST/ 8:00am PST
Duration: 1 Hour
Synopsis:
This session will provide a technical overview of the Bitfusion product along with a timeline of how the product will move forward at VMware. In the overview and demo, our tech team will discuss and show how Bitfusion’s FlexDirect provides network-attached GPUs (full or partial) in order to create an elastic infrastructure for today’s AI/ML workloads. VMware plans to integrate this technology into the core vSphere platform and use it as an entry point for integration with other hardware acceleration technologies (for example – FPGAs). Bitfusion was acquired by VMware in August of 2019.
Guest speakers:
Peter Buckingham – Director of Engineering, VMware (former VP Engineering at Bitfusion)
Jim Brogan – Technical Marketing Manager, VMware (former Technical Engineer for Bitfusion)
