One of the best reason to learn virtualised infrastructure with VMWare is VMWare's
simple GUI installation and and simplest database integration. So if you're trying
to set up your own VMWare Lab with With View Here it is how you can acheive it.

You need following VM's or Servers to configure the VMWare Lab.

Windows Server 2003 OR 2008 or 2008 R2( This will be the domain controller )
Windows Server 2008 R2(Preferred) vCenter Server and View Composer
Windows Server 2008 R2(Preferred) View Connection Server
Windows Server 2008 R2(Preferred) SQL Server 2008/2012 if you want(OR SQL Express will just do fine).
And Most of all ESXi Server 5
(All of this can be done in VMware Workstation and is best to do it)

Domain Controller

First of all will need an Domain Controller with an DNS Server configured in it.

In this case it will be corp.anything.com which should be pingable from the other servers.
You'll need Active Directory Domain Services installed in this DC.

To install  ADDS

Goto > Start > Run > Type dcpromo    and configure the AD DS once completed reboot doesn't harm.

Then you also need DNS server configured on this server for this you can

GOTO > Server Manager > Add Roles > DNS

Once you've configured the DNS Server we're done with the DC Server and can go to the next Step

ESXi Server Installation

Installation of ESXi Server is pretty much simple and straight forward.
Minimum 2GB of Ram is suggested for the installation
A static IP address is recommended though Workstation NAT network works just fine.

You can refer to one of the simple ways to install ESXi :- http://bit.ly/16dVEFa

Amazingly simple in' it.
