From the editors virtual desk
Hi everyone, hope you have had a good week. Finally making progress on my VCAC and ITBM learning. I managed to get some time this week to do some setup and things are going well.
This week I have published a list of courses for the Australia and New Zealand region. This is a fairly long list which can be found on the VMware MyLearn website. I am very focused on training as many of you know so I wanted to give you all the opportunity to see the courses that are still available and and at the time of writing still had seats available.
Have a chat to you TAM or Account Manager and get yourself booked on one of the courses below.
Have a great week everyone.
Virtually Yours

- VMware Cloud Ops Blog: New Technical Roles Emerge for the Cloud Era: The Rise of the Cross-Domain Expert (http://blogs.vmware.com/cloudops/?p=924)By Pierre Moncassin Several times over the last year, I have heard this observation: “It is all well and good to introduce new cloud management tools — but we need to change the IT roles to take advantage of these tools. This is our challenge.” As more and more of the clients I work with prepare their transition to a private cloud model, they increasingly acknowledge that traditional IT specialist roles need to evolve. We do not want to lose the traditional skills — from networking to storage to…

- VMware Hands On Labs Blog: Hands-on Labs: Seeding the Clouds (http://blogs.vmware.com/hol/?p=967)This is the first part of a post that I have been promising for quite some time. We have large amounts of data that we need to replicate to many locations. For the 2013 Hands-on Labs “season,” we used two methods to move our data. One of them is generally applicable while the other is more specialized and tailored to our use case. In this post, I will cover the more general use case because that process is used when we must “seed” a new cloud. I think the more specific use case is the more…
