From the editors virtual desk
Hi everyone, well I I had a really cool opportunity this week to meet with one of our extremely important analysts at our Palo Alto campus. The session was to discuss the metrics that a VMware Technical Account Manager collects every quarter with their customer.
Some background on this service. Every quarter we (TAMs) run a utility on our customers systems that allows us to deliver to them a very detailed report of their current environment. This information is also provided back to the internal data warehouse where it is analysed and provided back to all the TAMs as a dashboard summary of the many metrics that we collect but across the TAM world. This provides us with amazing insight into the world of virtualization for our customers and allows us to compare our customers environment using a variety of metrics with industry averages that have been analysed and collected.
If you are a TAM customer or thinking of becoming a TAM customer I suggest that this is a really valuable exercise that is performed by TAMs for their customers.
VMworld Europe is about to begin. I hope that those of you that are attending or participating have a wonderful time and I look forward to all of the announcements from the event and will try and bring you all of the news in the newsletter.
I hope you have a great week and look forward to chatting to you again next week. Thank you for reading the newsletter and of course please get in touch with anything that you might have on your mind.
Virtually Yours
