From the editors virtual desk

Hi everyone, it is nearly the end of the first half of 2014. I have had a very busy week with customers and I was also lucky enough to get a day off to spend doing some work/life balance stuff.

I have been finalising most of my customers vSphere 5.5 and their related components upgrade which we have tried to ensure were completed by the end of the half. For the most part this has been very successful and I have personally learnt a lot about the process and how easy it can be to make assumptions that can cause many issues. One of the big ticket items was certificates and ensuring that you are fully aware of their implications and how they will be used and required in the upgraded environment. This caused us some anxious moments in some cases but with the help of the VMware support staff and many online articles and KBs we were always able to sort the issue out and move forward.

I am hoping to go on some training in July, specifically VCAC and vCenter Operations Manager. These are two solutions amongst a number of others such as ITBM that I am very interested in and think provide my customers with immense value in their environments. If you are keen on training then take a look at these courses and for my customers in Brisbane we have both of these scheduled for early July so please be quick and book your space (details below).

I have also updated many of the blogs this week so there is loads more news for you. There may be duplicate entries while I get this new process in pace and you will also note a few new sections as follows under the VMWARE BLOGGERS:

  • GENERAL

More sections will be added and I hope you find this to be even more useful.I hope you have a wonderful week and look forward to speaking to you all again in a week.Virtually YoursNeil IsserowSenior Technical Account ManagerVMware AustraliaLocal EventsLocal Training ClassesVMware Bloggers
