Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks newsletter. It is almost the middle of the year already and I have been looking back at some of the more important solutions that I have been working with. I have also just recently completed doing metrics with my customers for the end of the quarter which is also a time for me to reflect on the growth and the different solutions that my customers are using as well as the state of their environment.
I have spent some time again on my VCAC lab and I hope to actually get on a VCAC course in July which I am very excited about.
As usual there is loads of news, new KB articles and other items in the newsletter so please enjoy and I look forward to chatting to you all again next week.

For as long as wersquo;ve been doing Network Virtualization, there has been debate about how best to encapsulate the data. As we pointed out in an earlier post , itrsquo;s entirely reasonable for multiple encapsulations (e.g. VXLAN and STT ) to co-exist in a single network. Resolved: VMware vSphere 5.5 Update 1 NFS disconnects (http://www.vmguru.nl/wordpress/?p=12275)
A new issue has been discovered with vSphere 5.5 Update 1 that is related to loss of connection of NFS based datastores. The result is an All Paths Down (APD) of the NFS datastores meaning that vSphere loses connection to the virtual machine files and/or the virtual machines will not be able to do any IO to the datastore. This will result in a BSOD for Windows virtual machine and read-only filesystems for Linux guests. Last friday we encountered this ourselves and already got the confirmation from VMware…
